Ideal for the production environment, this
revolutionary desktop product allows coating of inkjet CD/DVD discs,
complementing the innovative range of Gamma of ink jet printers, also available
from Media Matters.
Inkjet printed discs
offer the benefits of full digital print "Direct to disc surface" with
fantastically high resolution with the convenience of "on demand" production. An
ink jet printed disc has a durable finish for many applications, but being
water-based the finish can smudge with moisture or if the disc is handled with
wet hands for example.
Using UV (Ultra Violet) technology
a clear coating of approximately 3 microns is applied evenly over the printed
surface of the disc resulting in "instant dry" which enables you to place the
finished disc directly into a PVC wallet without sticking.
This
unique technology involves applying a precision amount of controlled lacquer
onto the surface of the disc, then moving the disc under a UV lamp to instantly
cure the surface.
The Patented "Adjustable Coating Head Technology"
allows the user to fine tune the process to achieve the desired finish from full
gloss to satin depending on preference and disc surface type.
Clean
and virtually odourless, the Art Coater is designed to be used in a printing and
duplication environment, with the benefit of low cost consumables.
Coating the surface of discs enhances and enriches the colours as well as
applying a durable moisture resistant protective layer.
The Art Coater is a the
perfect disc finishing system, providing a professional and permanent finish to
each disc for less than a penny per disc.
Two
versions of the Art Coater are available, the Art Coater manual is a desktop
unit that takes one disc at a time, being manually loaded and takes 30 seconds
per disc to coat.
The Art Coater Automatic, holds 220 discs and also
produces a disc every 30 seconds.
Both units include the air
extraction and cooling fan which needs to be channelled to the outside. An air
compressor is not included but can be supplied separately by Media Matters,
please contact us for full details.
